Welcome to Year 5B
Welcome to Year 5B, where thirty wonderful pupils are led by Miss Patchett, Mrs Smith and Miss Monk and we are ready for any challenge that comes our way.
We are really enjoying our class reader this term. It is called 'Stay Where You Are and Then Leave', written by John Boyne. This is also the book we are using for our 'Love of Reading' time during each day.
Throughout this term, we will be developing our writing through writing to inform; this includes a recount, monologue and letter, as well as writing to entertain; this includes writing a description text.
Within maths, we will be focusing on angles, converting units of measure as well as translation and reflection of shape.
This will be on Wednesday afternoons, we are currently building on our skills of footwork and control to eventually play a football match.
During the this Summer half term, we will travel back in time to learn more about the Roman Empire, its impact on Britain and the reasons for their invasion.
We will be exploring rites of passage that mark important events within a person's life.
This term will be a focused on 'Changing Me'.
