Design and Technology
Design and Technology is an inspiring, rigorous, and practical subject. Through a variety of creative and practical activities, all of the children at Tyldesley Primary School are taught the knowledge and skills needed to engage in the process of designing, making and evaluating products, inspiring their curiosity and creativity.
Through the exposure to real and relevant problems which reflect the diverse world in which they live, the children develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, whilst considering the views of others, enabling them to explore how products can be developed, adapted for different users as well as creating and testing prototypes to give purpose to projects.
Through a hands-on approach, the children are given access to other areas of the curriculum such as mathematics, science, computing and art. The skills and techniques developed through our design and technology curriculum are of great importance in our ever-changing technological world and ensure that the children are equipped for the next stages in their lives.
