Celebrating the Arts

Tyldesley Primary Arts Journey

Art, music, dance and drama provide children with a creative outlet to express themselves and develop an understanding of the world. At Tyldesley Primary School, the arts curriculum is taken beyond the classroom. This gives the children the opportunity to engage, inspire and challenge themselves within the wider school community, allowing them to learn new skills, fuel their imagination, build resilience and develop socially.

Dance

Some of the children from Year 5 and 6 had the  opportunity to work with some Year 11 dancers from our local high school. Over a 7 week period, the children worked hard and enjoyed learning a dance routine. They then showcased their amazing work alongside other primary schools at the primary evening of dance.

Wider Opportunities in Year 4

In Year 4, all of the children have the opportunity to take part in the Wider Opportunities Music Programme where they get the chance to learn a variety of percussion instruments over the course of the year.

Year 5 and 6 Christmas Carol Concert

Developing our Presentation and Public Speaking Skills

In science, Year 3 and Year 6 had been learning all about light. The Year 3 children really enjoyed listening to Year 6 sharing their presentations. Lots of questions were asked and answered!

Let's Play!

Alongside children from other local primary schools, children from Tyldesley Primary School took part in a new local event created to celebrate music - 'Let's Play!'. During the event, the children played instrumental solos or duets to an audience of children and parents/family members.
