Free School Meals
Below is a link to apply for free school meals. If you are eligible, this will entitle your child to free school meals and it also opens up additional support.
The school receives additional funds for children that are entitled to free school meals. We use this money to support interventions for children who need it. We also use it for attendance support and financial help with school uniforms/trips/cultural capital.
In KS1 universal school meals means that school dinners are free until year 3. This is not the same as Free School Meals and we encourage anyone who is entitled to FSM to apply for them:
Wigan Council have received funding to support those most in need with the cost of food, energy (heating, cooking, lighting), water bills (including sewerage) and other essential items during the winter period.
We want to give vulnerable households peace of mind over the winter months during the pandemic, by helping those in need to get food and other essentials, so every child will be warm and well-fed this winter.
This is part of a wider winter support package for families and children, including the significant expansion of the Department for Education’s (DFE’s) Holiday Activities and Food Programme, which will ensure provision for Easter, Summer and Christmas in 2021.
